I am an artist based in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, where living near the ocean has shaped both my life and my work.
My ongoing body of work, Saltwater Mythologies, is rooted in underwater photography and developed into richly layered, hand-worked surfaces through encaustic wax, oils, pastels, and pigment. Water, flowing fabric, and the human figure become a language through which I explore intimacy, strength, and transformation.
I began my career in 1980, at eighteen, as a portrait photographer. Decades spent working closely with people taught me to look beyond a pose—to recognize the small gestures and expressions that carry feeling. That intimate connection remains at the heart of my art.
