Susan J Roche
Photography, Encaustic & Mixed Media Works
Susan J. Roche creates atmospheric works that merge underwater photography with encaustic wax, pigment, and hand-applied surface treatments. Inspired by mythology, water, and transformation, her images occupy a space between photography and painting, where light, movement, and memory converge.
Working beneath the water’s surface, Roche photographs figures suspended in a world of shifting reflections and fluid gesture. Each work is individually developed by hand, creating a unique surface and presence that cannot be replicated.
Her work is held in private collections nationwide and is sought by collectors drawn to its sense of beauty, mystery, and quiet emotional resonance.

Private Commissions
A select number of commissioned works are available each year. Created through underwater photography and hand-finished surface treatments, each piece is developed in response to its environment and the vision of the collector.
